Muslims are instructed to invoke blessings and salutations upon the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him), this is also referred to as Durood. Alongside several narrations from the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) himself, there are injunctions from within the Quran commanding the believers to do the same. God and his Angels themselves send salutations and wish for the welfare and elevated status of the Prophet. It is said that the prayer which is not accompanied by both the praise of God and salutations upon the Prophet, fails to reach the heavens. But what is the true significance of this noble remembrance?
